about
In the late spring of 2023, the San Jose Sharks came knocking on our door looking for a brand new banger to pump up the team before their home games this season. So banger we brought! They ensured us that they wanted the essence of the song to feel like the Flats, but hoped it could also tap into the San Jose way, and bring a little extra energy into the arena just before the team barrels through that big shark mouth. A truly wild ask, since we all grew up either playing or watching hockey. Being trusted by the whole organization with this tall task is an honour we’re truly grateful for, and to be able to leave a small stamp on some NHL activity is beyond comprehension to the four of us.
lyrics
Struggling to sit still
Just floating on my feet
Something to prove inside of me
All is that ends well
Defying all defeat
Don’t need to be above the water to breathe
Rally at our rivals door
Cause we were born to bite
Arm in arm all through the storm
It’s never a surprise
You’re caught between our teeth
We’ve got the strength in
The numbers underneath
The surface you could never breach, no
We’re still swimming in circles til we feed
Until the effort’s echoed in all we achieve
Breathe in deep
Rally at our rivals door
Cause we were born to bite
Arm in arm all through the storm
We’ve finally arrived
Rally at our rivals door
Cause we were born to bite
Prey now stranded far from shore
It’s never a surprise
You’re caught between our teeth
